My Review
This is an intense read. A Story full of powerful emotions.
Valerie has one goal....she wants to be recruited to avenge her brother's death that she feels she is responsible for. She wants to be recruited by the Herons, and she feel like she has an "IN" because of the connections her ex-boyfriend has. Her recruitment happens, but not as she expected...but she doesn't care. She will do whatever she needs to get her revenge.
This is a story about love, betrayal, loyalty and vengeance. The characters are real, with unique personalities that draws you deeper into the story because you want to learn their history. These characters have depth...and heartache....trying their best to make it through a tough life. They will make you cry.
As the gangs play games against each other, the intensity builds. The Heron's are trying to take over neighborhoods, build their big buildings and high tech, while pushing out the little guy. The Stags and the Boars team up to try to stop this from happening. But the Wars Rage...
Like I said, this is an intense read...it contains difficult subjects..and it is dark...however it is beautifully written. It is also a fast paced read....and the ending is unexpected.
