Praise for WATT O'HUGH AND THE INNOCENT DEAD

“Touching tragedy, dead-pan comedy and a time-roaming cowboy? Part three of Drachman’s epic fantasy series is indeed fantastic!” ―David David Katzman, award-winning author of A Greater Monster (Bedhead Books)

“[An] engaging tale of Western science fiction and amazing fantasy … Fast-paced, energetic and fun; a dime novel for modern intellectuals.” ―Kirkus Reviews

"The third entry in Drachman'sseries (after Watt O'Hugh Underground) dives right into a complex world of time travel, lost love, faith, war, and the afterlife. The titularRoamer -- a time traveler with cowboy flavor -- is hoodwinked into getting good and dead. He wakes up in the Hell of the Innocent Dead, a place of Chinese myth devoted to those unjustly dead whose murderers still walk free.... VERDICT: Genre mashup devotees should get some good laughs and thrills from this Western/adventure/sf/fantasy blend." ―Nicole Steeves, Library Journal

On the morning of Wednesday, September 24, 1879, I awoke in a prison in Montana.

I did not imagine that evening might find me sprawled beneath a great and ferocious sand crab on a rancid beach, deep in the Hell of the Innocent Dead.

But that is indeed where I wound up.

The moral, if there is one: never plan your day too inflexibly.

THE WAIT IS OVER: THE CLASSIC ADVENTURE CONCLUDES....

In this, the final book of the trilogy, Watt O'Hugh, the dead/not-dead, time Roaming Western gunman, travels the length and breadth of the sixth level of Hell, recruiting a shadowy army that might storm the borders of the Underworld, free humanity and the inscapes from the clutches of the Falsturm and his Sidonian hordes, and stave off the Coming Storm.

He'll need a little luck.

WATT O'HUGH AND THE INNOCENT DEAD BY STEVEN S. DRACHMAN EXCERPT

The bar in Conconully was naught but a desolate store room, abandoned with the change in the economy, and not yet rescued by the tourists who would descend a few years henceforward. A few windows let in the air and the starlight. Someone had lugged a makeshift bar from town, and the music was lo-fi, a couple of acoustic guitars, a sax, a flute. A lot of Roamers cannot tolerate amplification. The party was crowded, but I realized quickly that the number of bodies grew and collapsed, like a human lung. The room, a blur — partyers shifted as I watched; the past and the future metamorphosed, smeared in space. How many Roamers would it take to change a light bulb? An infinite number, because the past and the future is always changing ‘round them.

Book 2 of the Watt O'Hugh trilogy, Watt O'Hugh Underground, was published by Chickadee Prince Books in 2014, to equivalent acclaim. The final book of the trilogy is Watt O'Hugh and the Innocent Dead.

A Time Travel Novel full of spunk.

I recommend reading the first 2 books of this story before you dive into the third installment. Quirky, interesting time jumps, and out of this time characters. Go on an interesting Journey with Watt, and his fellow comrades as they take on the levels of Hell....and try to keep their humanity.

The powerful Antasy saga continues with The Prophet of the Termite God!

Yet, in all his despair, Pleckoo receives prophecies from his termite god, assuring him he will kill Anand to rule the Sand and establish the One True Religion.

And war is not yet over.

Helix by Mary Ting Blog Tour and Giveaway

Helix
Mary Ting
(International Sensory Assassin Network #2)
Published by: Vesuvian Books
Publication date: September 10th 2019
Genres: Dystopian, Science Fiction, Young Adult
Alliances are forming. The resistance is growing. Everything is about to change.
With her memory still fragmented, Ava returns to the International Sensory Assassin Network (ISAN) to find the twin sister she never knew she had.
But as Ava hunts for information, she finds herself tangled in a web of yet more lies and conspiracy. The Helix serum may not be required to access her superpowers, and the number of male assassins—previously considered too volatile to tolerate Helix—is growing in every territory.
The more Ava uncovers, the more of a threat she becomes to ISAN. Her only salvation may be to join the rebels—if she isn’t killed first.

My Review

Helix is the second installment in the ISAN series...thank god there is going to be five books in this series because I just don't want it to end.

This story heats up with complex conspiracies, tangled twists, and action...action..action...
SO much happens in this story, you have to be alert at all times because you will never guess or expect what will happen. Some secrets will be revealed, while others just get deeper and mysterious.

The characters are amazing....I was content to be back into Ava and Rhett's world....a damaged world that still holds hope. Your favorite resistance characters are still strong, shedding light humor during difficult times. Ava's team, still loyal...ahem...most of them.. and amazing new characters that plays critical rolls.

Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster...your heart will soar, it will ache in pain, it will beat with an adrenaline rush, it will be crushed with agony, like I said, a roller coaster.

This story, book, world has everything, and I mean everything for a fantastic read to escape from everyday life...and that my friends, is what makes reading worthwhile.

EXCERPT

I twisted at the waist to dodge the first pellet. Then I ducked and somersaulted when two more fired my way. I flattened to the ground, rolled to my right, and then jolted up when more whizzed by, one after another in rapid succession. After shifting awkwardly to my left and right, I arched my back, and one missed me by a hair.
Drew stopped firing, his features a mask of confusion. He looked at his Taser, most likely wondering if he should even bother with it, and then watched me walk toward him to close the gap between us.
“How?” His chest heaved and anger seethed in his eyes.
I swaggered the last few steps with a smirk. “I guess Helix likes me better. You’ve got the wrong briefcase, as you know … and this is personal. You messed with the wrong team.”
I slammed the heel of my palm into his chest. The unforgivable blow caused Drew to fly off the roof to likely splat on the ground.
     Oops. My bad.
I placed the right suitcase on the platform of the sub-glider. It whooshed and clanked open.
A welcoming, wonderful sound.

by
Dan Bar-el
Book Synopsis

An inquisitive polar bear named Duane befriends an array of animals as he discovers where he belongs in this charming classic-in-the making that’s reminiscent of Winnie the Pooh.

Duane is a sweet and curious young bear who makes friends with everyone he meets—whether they’re bossy, like Major Puff the puffin, or a bit vain, like Handsome the musk ox, or very, very shy, like Boo the caribou. For these arctic friends, every day is a new adventure!

My Review

What a wonderful read for the whole family...grab a blanket, because it's cold in the Very, Very Far North...and go on an adventure with Duane!

Duane's innocence shines through with humor as he decides to make a home in the Very, Very far north, making new friends, discoveries, and adventures.  With each new friend he meets, he learns more about himself and his friends wacky personalities.

However, what is TRULY amazing about this story is the subtle lessons you learn while reading....keeping boundaries, listening to your instincts, and so much more....pretty sneaky and brilliant all at the same time!

A beautiful story full of virtue, it's timeless and will be a favorite bedtime read.
