Synopsis

What would you sacrifice to save the one’s you love? To save the one who holds your heart? To save the world?

Kenley Grayson is all too familiar with these questions.

After Earth is thrust into its first intergalactic war with an unknown race called the Bringers, our military forces begin to suffer heavy losses. Desperate for a solution, the Allied Federation issues a worldwide draft for every able seventeen year old to enlist. As Kenley turns seventeen, she finds herself thrown into the very war that took her older brother’s life.

This year’s draft is a little different than in the past though. A new program, known as the Magnus Project, has been introduced, and only the best and brightest qualify. Kenley is amongst a select few whom are chosen to join this elite group of soldiers, and as a part of this project, undergoes a modification procedure that leaves her and her peers endowed with powers beyond their wildest dreams.

As Earth continues in its struggle against the Bringers, Kenley is transported to a high-tech training facility, the Magnus Academy, to prepare for the major battle that lies ahead. It’s here that she meets the California heartthrob, and son of a legendary war hero, Landon Shaw. As unexpected feelings toward Landon begin to develop, Kenley wonders if this is the right time or place for romance to bloom, especially when those feelings start to interfere with her training.

With the weight of the world on her shoulders, Kenley is constantly reminded of how important she and the rest of the Magnus cadets are to the fate of humanity. She is one of the Modified, Earth’s last line of defense against utter destruction.

This is one of my Favorite Dystopia books of the year!!

For this giveaway, I will be offering 5 ebooks of Florence by Ciye Cho.  These are being offered by the wonderful author of this book!!

I have recently reviewed this book, so I thought I would repost the review!

Title: Florence
Author: Ciye Cho
Publish Date: Published July 1st 2012

Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Florence Waverley is out of her depth. Literally. Kidnapped and taken below the waves to the mer world of Niemela, she is the ultimate gift for merman Prince Kiren: a human familiar tied to his side. But nothing is what it seems amid the beauty and danger of a dark ocean. Every Niemelan has a role to play, from the mermaids who weave towers out of kelp to the warriors who fight sea monsters. But in trying to survive, Florence will end up in the middle of a war between the mer and the Darkness. A conflict that will push her between two brothers: Kiren, the charmer inexplicably drawn to both her and the monsters; and Rolan, the loner who has been pushing her away since the day they met. But in order to take a stand--and find out where she belongs--Florence will have to risk it all: her life, her heart... and her very soul.

Florence finds a magical world that she never knew existed.

Florence is on a field trip. Never fitting in, she tries to blend in with her classmates and not draw attention to herself. As they reach Mermaid’s Reach, everyone decides to go swimming. Florence goes off by herself, snorkeling in the reefs. Florence is knocked out, and when she comes to, finds that she has been kidnapped and brought to a magical world called Niemelia, where the Mer people live.

The King is furious when he finds out that a Human has been brought to their world, to be a familiar for Kiren who is to be crowned the next King. The king orders Florence to be disposed of, but Yolee, the King’s daughter, talks him into letting her stay. Yolee is ecstatic to have a friend.

Florence begins to learn the way of the Mer people. All animals, mermaids, and mermen live in harmony, with each having a purpose to live peacefully. Kiren is nice to Florence, however, Rolan is cold and distant. Rolan makes it known that he does not want Florence in Niemelia.

Niemelia is attacked several times by the darkness. The darkness is the world outside of Niemelia, where monsters and volcanoes exist. Florence starts to get a sixth sense whenever danger is near.

This is my FIRST mermaid story I have read and I found it completely fascinating. The magical world created was completely visualized in my mind as I was reading. The vibrant colors, astounding lights, and harmony with the life of the sea are how I always envisioned the Mer people to exist. I was deeply drawn into the story as Florence learned the traditions and daily lives of the Mer people. The plot becomes so exciting as Florence learns more about the Princes, and I was completely shocked at the ending. I am SO hoping that Ciye Cho continues this story..I can see it going in an incredible direction. I highly recommend this incredible Mer fantasy!

Unknown to her, Crossroads is like a second heaven, a place between heaven and earth. It is where the souls of humans in comas or near death experiences may wander. Where, Claudia meets Michael, a nephilim, a half angel, half human, whom she often meets in her dreams. It turns out that this isn’t her first visit to Crossroads, which is an enigma for no human can ever travel there until Claudia.

Now the fallen and demons are after her, suspecting she must be special and it is up to Michael and the other nephilims to protect her. Her dream becomes a nightmare as more secrets are revealed, about who she really is, and the true identities of the people she loves most. Can Michael fight his growing feelings for Claudia and protect her as a guardian angel should?
