SYNOPSIS
Growing up in the southern Kingdom of Valenia at the renowned Magnalia House should have prepared her for such a life. While some are born with an innate talent for one of the five passions—art, music, dramatics, wit, and knowledge—Brienna struggled to find hers until she belatedly chose to study knowledge. However, despite all her preparations, Brienna’s greatest fear comes true—the solstice does not go according to plan and she is left without a patron.

My Review
I had a slight book hangover after reading this book.
Brienna will risk everything for a country she has never seen.
A fantastic debut, The Queen's Rising has passion and intrigue, and proves that patience and loyalty will triumph. It's so beautiful, that the scenery comes to life right before your eyes and emotions are felt deep in your core.
The sisters in the Magnalia House who are studying the five passions truly have a sisterhood. Even though Brienna is the sixth sister, who ends up trying all five passions and ultimately stays with knowledge, they are close and support each other. It was pleasant to not have to deal with drama that usually unfolds with a house of teenage girls.
However, Brienna discovers something deep inside her that she can't ignore, and her destiny unfolds.
She discovers more about herself, and what true passion really means.
There is power in the words of this story. A power that takes control and intensifies. Overflowing with twists, this story is swift with action and anticipation. A beautiful world, but not without flaws, surrender your imagination to this ingenious fantasy.
I fell in love with this enchanting story and I know you will to.
