The Modified Cover Reveal Blog Tour and Giveaway

The Modified Cover Reveal & Giveaway!

What would you sacrifice to save the one’s you love? To save the one who holds your heart? To save the world?

Kenley Grayson is all too familiar with these questions.

After Earth is thrust into its first intergalactic war with an unknown race called the Bringers, our military forces begin to suffer heavy losses. Desperate for a solution, the Allied Federation issues a worldwide draft for every able seventeen-year-old to enlist. As Kenley turns seventeen, she finds herself thrown into the very war that took her older brother’s life.
This year’s draft is a little different than in the past though. A new program, known as the Magnus Project, has been introduced, and only the best and brightest qualify. Kenley is amongst a select few whom are chosen to join this elite group of soldiers, and as a part of this project, undergoes a modification procedure that leaves her and her peers endowed with powers beyond their wildest dreams.
As Earth continues in its struggle against the Bringers, Kenley is transported to a high-tech training facility, the Magnus Academy, to prepare for the major battle that lies ahead. It’s here that she meets the California heartthrob, and son of a legendary war hero, Landon Shaw. As unexpected feelings toward Landon begin to develop, Kenley wonders if this is the right time or place for romance to bloom, especially when those feelings start to interfere with her training.
With the weight of the world on her shoulders, Kenley is constantly reminded of how important she and the rest of the Magnus cadets are to the fate of humanity. She is one of the Modified, Earth’s last line of defense against utter destruction.

Aerenden by Kristen Taber Review

Title: Aerenden

Author: Kristen Taber

Publish Date: Published May 21st 2012 by Sean Tigh Press

Synopsis:
Red-eyed creatures have brutally murdered seventeen-year-old Meaghan's parents. After nearly sharing their fate, she escapes with her best friend, Nick, who confesses the creatures, known as Mardróch, came from another world. And so did she. Afraid to face her parents' killers again, Meaghan follows Nick into the kingdom of Ærenden. Their journey leads them across war-torn lands and through hazardous wilderness. Vines have the ability to attack. Monkeys freeze their victims with a gaze. Men create bombs from thin air. Even Meaghan's gift of empathy proves to be a dangerous power she cannot control. But control becomes the least of her problems when the Mardróch begin targeting her. As she and Nick race for the safety of his village, she discovers he knows the reason they want her. And his secret may cost Meaghan her life.
*sing song voice* LOVED this story!!!

Meaghan’s world is turned upside down when she watches her father take his last breath, and discovers her mom dead not to far away from him. The creatures who killed them are still in the house, and Nick grabs Meagan and they run for their lives. Meaghan was confused by the chain of events and the bizarre creatures she saw. Nick doesn’t have time to explain to her what is going on, but rushes her on to try and find safety by going through a portal.

Meaghan finds herself no longer on earth, and an over abundance of questions for Nick. Nick is slow to give information to Meaghan as they travel through Aerenden to Nick’s home. However, they do have help along the way, and each step closer to Nick’s home Meaghan starts to learn who she really is and what that identity means.

I loved the world of Aerenden and how it resembles Earth in the way of landscapes, however different because of the magic the people and creatures of the planet possess. I found myself visualizing this world and feeling the hardships and simple living the people endure, but also harboring the incredible Hope that keeps them going. Finding out Meaghan’s identity with her, and what is expected of her is an adventure in itself. Nick’s “hot and cold” behavior towards Meaghan is frustrating but exhilarating at the same time with his battle with his heart and the sacred rules he is bound by. This story has it all, amazing plot, heartache, loyalty and betrayal, friendships, love, and the powerful hope that the kingdom will become full of glory once again. It is insanely amazing, and I can NOT wait for the next book in the series.

It’s so good, I think keyboards should have the AE together key so that I can Type the correct spelling of this novel’s title! Readers and followers should definitely try this story, there’s just SO MUCH MORE!

Cover Feature- Perception

Perception by Lee Strauss

Seventeen year old Zoe Vanderveen is a GAP—a genetically altered person. She lives in the security of a walled city on prime water-front property along side other equally beautiful people with extended life spans.

Her brother Liam is missing.

Noah Brody is a natural who lives on the outside. He leads protests against the GAPs and detests the widening chasm they’ve created between those who have and those who don’t. He doesn’t like girls like Zoe and he has good reason not to like her specifically.

Zoe’s carefree life takes a traumatic turn.  She’s in trouble and it turns out that Noah, the last guy on earth she should trust, is the only one who can help her.

PERCEPTION is a ( SF/mystery/romance) Young Adult novel that takes place in the not too distant future in a world changed by climate extremes, natural disasters and impending wars, and where scientific breakthroughs cause class divisions—both financially and philosophically.  It explores the clash between faith and science and how differences can separate us as enemies or alliance us together. And in some cases, even in the midst of betrayal and personal crisis, there’s room to fall in love.
This is the first book in a planned three book series.

Florence by Ciye Cho Review

Title: Florence
Author: Ciye Cho
Publish Date: Published July 1st 2012

Synopsis:
Seventeen-year-old Florence Waverley is out of her depth. Literally. Kidnapped and taken below the waves to the mer world of Niemela, she is the ultimate gift for merman Prince Kiren: a human familiar tied to his side. But nothing is what it seems amid the beauty and danger of a dark ocean. Every Niemelan has a role to play, from the mermaids who weave towers out of kelp to the warriors who fight sea monsters. But in trying to survive, Florence will end up in the middle of a war between the mer and the Darkness. A conflict that will push her between two brothers: Kiren, the charmer inexplicably drawn to both her and the monsters; and Rolan, the loner who has been pushing her away since the day they met. But in order to take a stand--and find out where she belongs--Florence will have to risk it all: her life, her heart... and her very soul.
Florence finds a magical world that she never knew existed.

Florence is on a field trip. Never fitting in, she tries to blend in with her classmates and not draw attention to herself. As they reach Mermaid’s Reach, everyone decides to go swimming. Florence goes off by herself, snorkeling in the reefs. Florence is knocked out, and when she comes to, finds that she has been kidnapped and brought to a magical world called Niemelia, where the Mer people live.

The King is furious when he finds out that a Human has been brought to their world, to be a familiar for Kiren who is to be crowned the next King. The king orders Florence to be disposed of, but Yolee, the King’s daughter, talks him into letting her stay. Yolee is ecstatic to have a friend.

Florence begins to learn the way of the Mer people. All animals, mermaids, and mermen live in harmony, with each having a purpose to live peacefully. Kiren is nice to Florence, however, Rolan is cold and distant. Rolan makes it known that he does not want Florence in Niemelia.

Niemelia is attacked several times by the darkness. The darkness is the world outside of Niemelia, where monsters and volcanoes exist. Florence starts to get a sixth sense whenever danger is near.

This is my FIRST mermaid story I have read and I found it completely fascinating. The magical world created was completely visualized in my mind as I was reading. The vibrant colors, astounding lights, and harmony with the life of the sea are how I always envisioned the Mer people to exist. I was deeply drawn into the story as Florence learned the traditions and daily lives of the Mer people. The plot becomes so exciting as Florence learns more about the Princes, and I was completely shocked at the ending. I am SO hoping that Ciye Cho continues this story..I can see it going in an incredible direction. I highly recommend this incredible Mer fantasy!

Cover Reveal-POWER by Kristie Cook

Cover Reveal

I am a little late getting this up, but I can not tell you how excited I am to get this book!!

An Excerpt:

I never heard the rest of Tristan's sentence—what he didn’t want me to think. The handsome guy thought I’d nodded to him and had me by the hand, stumbling over his own feet as he dragged me to the dance area. As soon as we stepped onto the sunken floor, his hands were on my hips, pulling me close to him. For a brief moment, I forgot about all the mind signatures, the twirling lights and pounding music and could only think about how strange it was to be that close to a man other than Tristan.

But only for a brief moment. Before I could even do anything, a growl ripped through the music—or maybe just through my head—and Tristan was suddenly between the guy and me, his back to me and his arms out protectively. The drunk guy swung without even looking, and Tristan caught his wrist in mid-air. With the pain of the grip, the guy finally looked up into Tristan’s face. His eyes grew wide and his Adam’s apple bobbed as he gulped. He gave me an apologetic frown as he carefully stepped away from the dance floor.

Tristan turned back to me and wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me to him as he swayed to the music. I looked up at him with a raised eyebrow.

“You can talk to girls all night but I can’t dance once?”
His nostrils flared. “There’s a difference. His hands were all over you.”
“I had things under control.”
He leaned closer to me and growled in my ear. “I didn’t like it!”
