Review in the Making...

So, once again I am still in the process of reading this book...I feel horrible that I don't have it finished to write a proper review, but life, work, grandbaby, and a family tragedy has managed to get in my way right now.

HOWEVER, what I HAVE read in this book so far I LOVE!!

It's SOO good...I'm reading it slow to make sure I don't miss one dang thing! One of my favorite reads so far... It's heartbreaking right now, brutal even, but I can feel in my soul there is going to be such amazing adventures to come.

The world building is unique, brilliant and intense...the characters...from all sides of the tracks, intense...

So far, intense is the word...

Novelist and poet Lucinda Roy’s latest book deal is with Tor/Macmillan for her futuristic slave narrative series The Freedom Race. She also authored the memoir No Right to Remain Silent: What We’ve Learned from the Tragedy at Virginia Tech. Among her awards are the Eighth Mountain Prize for Poetry, the 2017 Zenobia Hikes Woman of Color in the Academy Award, and the Baxter Hathaway Prize for her long slave narrative poem “Needlework.” An Alumni Distinguished Professor in Creative Writing at Virginia Tech, she has been a guest on numerous TV and radio shows, including The CBS Evening News, The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS’s Sunday Morning, Oprah, and NPR. My Review

Please note that I am still in the process of reading this story. This is a HUGE book! This is also a sequel to Master Assassins.

The world building in this story is incredible...it's complex, deep,  and comes from a master of imagination.

 

All the characters I have met in this story so far has been born with deep roots and complex history. A lot of time and love has been put into each one.

The plot is intense. There is so much action and adventure, that there is never a dull moment. I curse work and real life for not letting me have the chance to sit all day and read this in one sitting! Really, this story has it all for a great Fantasy....make sure you start with the first book, create a quiet place for yourself, and dive into it so you can cherish each page that it deserves!

Robert V. S. Redick is the author of the Chathrand Voyage Quartet ( The Red Wolf Conspiracy and sequels), among the most beloved and critically acclaimed epic fantasy series of recent years.

Redick is a former faculty member in the Stonecoast MFA program and an environmental justice consultant. He has lived and worked in Indonesia, Argentina, Colombia, and many other countries. Master Assassins (Talos Press, 2018), the first book in The Fire Sacraments trilogy, was a finalist for the European Booknest Award for Best Novel, and was featured on numerous Best of the Year lists.

My Review

If you like to read a story about terrorists and government plots, Red Deception is the one for you. It is the second book in the Red Hotel series, but can be read as a stand a lone book.

Reilly is an hotel executive that is traveling the world trying to protect the hotels he is in charge while there is chaos escalating around the world. While he is traveling, he is also trying to help the US government unravel who is attacking the United States. Why? Because someone is using a report he made years ago. He has his hands full for sure.

This story is so real it's scary. Full of action and suspense, it's a page turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I normally don't read this type of story, but found myself immersed deep within the pages, flipping the page as fast as I could to see what was going to happen next.

It's a read I think you will really enjoy if you love stories about espionage, this will be a great series for you.

ED FULLER is CEO of Laguna Strategic Advisors, a global consortium providing business consulting services worldwide. He has served on both business and charitable boards during his forty-year career with Marriott International where he was chief marketing officer followed by 22 years as president and managing director of Marriott International.

Under his management the international division grew from 16 to 550 hotels in 73 countries with 80,000 associates and sales of 8 billion dollars. Upon retirement, Ed repurposed his career in several arenas. He has served on five university boards as well as adjunct professor for both MBA and undergraduate students. For over four years he was a blogger for Forbes and other tourism and lodging industry media.
