Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz Review

Title: Spellbound
Author: Cara Lynn Shultz
Publish Date: Published June 28th 2011 by Harlequin Teen
Synopsis:
Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Connor, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.
But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.

Spellbound is the perfect name for this book. It will bound you, grab you, and hold you until you finish the book.

Emma has had a lot of hardships in her life. She moves in with her Aunt, who has finally talked her into living with her. She attends an elite school, with a lot of snobby rich girls, who seem to have it in for Emma from the first day of school. Ashley, her cousin, tries to show her the ropes at the prestigious school.

Anthony tries to pursue Emma, but she has her eye on another guy, Brendan. Emma thinks that she has a connection with Brendan, but everytime they start to get a little close, he backs off, turns cold to her.

Emma becomes friends with Angelique, who proclaims to be a witch. Emma tells Angelique the dreams that she has, and the weird things that has been happening to her. Angelique believes that someone is trying to send her a message. After some research, they discover what is happening with Emma.

Ah yeah, so hard to write a review and not give out any spoilers. BUT, this is an incredible storyline. I loved the characters, and found myself laughing out loud at some of the dialect. The journey that Emma travels is intense….and I found myself squeezing the book, and not wanting to put it down until I was finished. Love at first sight? Love by Spellbound? Either way, Love is love…and you must read this book to find out!

My Over All Rating:
5 Star.
