If her love life is going down in flames, she might as well spark a revolution.

Finding out on your sixteenth birthday you’re a shape-shifting dragon is tough to swallow. Being hauled off to an elite boarding school is enough to choke on.

Since Bryn is the only crossbreed at the Institute for Excellence, all eyes are on her, but it’s a particular black dragon, Zavien, who catches her attention.

Zavien is tired of the Council’s rules. Segregated clans, being told who to love, and close-minded leaders make freedom of choice almost impossible. The new girl with the striped hair is a breath of fresh air, and with Bryn’s help, they may be able to change the rules.

At the Institute, old grudges, new crushes, and death threats are all part of a normal day for Bryn. She’ll need to learn to control her dragon powers if she wants to make it through her first year at school. But even focusing on staying alive is difficult when you’re falling for someone you can't have.

My Review

Going Down in Flames is nothing but action from the first sentence to the last.

Bryn is a spunky strong headed girl who just found out she is a dragon.  Even though she is shocked, she takes it in with grace as she learns about her true shelf.  She is pushed to go away to school for all dragons, and learns VERY fast that she is taboo in the dragon society.....and then the real fun begins!!

I am so excited about this story. The first ever dragon shifting story I have ever read ( and I honestly don't know if there are a lot), rocked from page one to the end.  It grabbed my attention so fast, I could hardly put it down.  I found it insanely original with a fantastic plot.  Bryn is a strong character, and I feel she is the one that pushed this book to its greatness.  Luckily, Bryn found great friends who are completely loyal when she first showed up to the school. Zavien....SWEEEET! He will certainly grow on you as the story progresses.  This story IS the full package. There is humor mixed in with the action, and tons of twists that will keep you guessing.

I look forward to Bryn's adventure, I have a feeling there is more to come.  It's one of those stories that you just aren't ready for it to end, so I highly recommend this read.

Here's to the "purple" dragon!!
(when you read the story, you will get this!)
