Humanity has colonized on the tidally locked planet Pendomus.
Residing between extreme heat and frigid cold is the complex known as the Helix. Within lies a highly sophisticated society functioning solely on humans fulfilling their life’s purpose as determined by their natural aptitudes and daily brain scans.
Seventeen-year-old Runa Cophem has found her calling studying the ancient trees nearby and anxiously awaits a professional placement which will allow her to continue her work.
Runa’s life takes an unforeseen turn when she’s brutally attacked and left for dead in those woods. Rescued by a stranger with blue hair, she’s immersed into a surprising way humanity has survived without the Helix. Fueled by a yearning to understand and an attraction she didn’t even know was possible, Runa tries to make a new life for herself. Yet, there’s much she doesn’t know about herself, about the planet, and the forces controlling her from afar.
What she needs are some answers.

My Review

Pendomus is unique with the many genres it covers: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Paranormal, and Dystopia...and lets not forget the mystery.  The mystery of a planet that is tidally locked.

Helix is the society that has inhibited this planet.  Their lives are planned....destined to live the constant and dreary life that is chosen for them. However, Runa is not the norm.  She loves to be outside, her curiosity taking over all the rules she has been taught.

This story is so intriguing, it instantly grabbed my attention and once I started in Runa's adventure, I just couldn't put it down.  There is so much to Runa, she has a mind of her own, and knows there's so much more to what they are being taught in the Helix.  When she is attacked outside the Helix, she meets Trae and a misfit group who is living on the outside.  Runa learns that the society inside the Helix is hiding so much from them.

As the story progresses, Runa learns more about herself, and that she may have a different purpose on Pendomus than what she believed.

I'm so excited for this story, even after reading it, there's still so much of the mystery of the planet that has not been revealed.  This will definitely keep your interest up for the next installment. It's exciting and adventurous.  I can honestly say that Pendomus is original in its plot and has incredible imagination. It's written in two different points of view, which I enjoyed.  It's always fun to tap into another character's thoughts and feelings.

Pendomus is a fun read that will fascinate your imagination.
